The Adamson Internal Breast Lift is a new procedure developed and perfected by Dr. Adamson. It is ideally suited for women with small, sagging breasts, which are very common after breast feeding, weight loss and aging. The sagging breast is elevated, lifted and augmented internally through a small (4-5cm) incision underneath the breast, thus avoiding the external scars on the breasts as with older breast lift techniques.
Proper repositioning of the breast is very important in breast augmentation. Proper breast aesthetics of the sagging breast cannot be achieved unless the breast is somehow lifted and properly repositioned, either internally or externally. If an implant is placed behind the muscle (as it usually should be) without lifting the breast, the outcome is usually unfavorable and referred to as a “double bubble” deformity. Alternatively if the implant is placed above the muscle under the sagging breast the implant will usually add weight to the breast and create additional sagging called a “rock in a sock” deformity – also an unfavorable outcome.

In most cases the scars are almost imperceptible.

Inverted nipples are usually caused by shortened milk ducts tethering the nipple inward. If the inverted nipple is a new condition breast cancer must be ruled out as the cause.
The condition is easily corrected in Dr. Adamson’s office under local anesthesia by releasing the shortened ducts through a very small incision below the nipple. The procedure can affect the ability to breast feed. Downtime is minimal to none.
Under local anesthesia in Dr. Adamson’s office the nipples are injected with filler materials such as Restylane, Juvederm, Radiance, Radiesse or Fat Grafts to achieve more prominent nipples. Minimal to no downtime
Implant ruptures, implant asymmetry or malposition, capsular contractures (hardening of the scar tissue around the breast implants) and other implant related problems require special attention to detail to be properly treated.
